1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Zixia Browser applications for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, and to the official website. The developer identified for Zixia Browser in the App Store is responsible for the iOS and iPadOS processing described here. We respect your privacy and design browsing, reading, and utility features to work locally on your device whenever practical. Websites, search providers, email apps, and other services you choose have their own privacy practices.
2. Data processed on your device
To provide browser features, Zixia may store or process browsing history, bookmarks, regular tabs, shortcuts, download history and files, bookshelf files, reading progress, website cookies and storage, cache, display and reading preferences, external-app rules, user scripts, ad-blocking rules, and most preferences on your device. Zixia Browser does not automatically upload this local content to the developer.
On iOS and iPadOS, regular browsing and private browsing use separate website data stores. Private website data is non-persistent and is destroyed when the last private tab closes. If device backup is enabled, Apple or another backup provider may process eligible app data under its own terms.
The current iOS and iPadOS app does not create Zixia Browser accounts and does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising tracking, cross-app tracking, or automatic telemetry.
3. Permissions and their purposes
Available permissions and system wording vary by platform. Zixia Browser requests access only when you use the related feature or approve a website request.
- Network access: used to open websites, download files, update rules, and access online services you choose to use.
- iOS/iPadOS — Camera: requested only for QR-code scanning or a website media request you approve. QR recognition is performed on the device using Apple system frameworks.
- iOS/iPadOS — Photos: add-only access is requested when you save a webpage screenshot or webpage image. Selecting an image for QR recognition uses the system photo picker.
- iOS/iPadOS — Files: documents you import for reading and files you download are stored on your device and are not automatically uploaded.
- iOS/iPadOS — Microphone: requested only after a website asks to record audio and you approve that request. Zixia Browser does not record audio in the background.
- iOS/iPadOS — Local network: requested only while the Wi-Fi transfer panel is open so you can receive books from a computer on your local network.
- Android — Camera: requested only for QR-code scanning or a website media request you approve. QR scanning is processed locally unless you choose to open or share the result.
- Android — Microphone: requested only after a website asks to record audio and you approve that request. Zixia Browser does not record audio in the background.
- Android — Foreground location: requested only after the current HTTPS website asks for geolocation and you approve both the website request and Android permission. Zixia Browser does not access location in the background or automatically approve a website request.
- Android — Files and media by edition: the Google Play edition uses Android's system file picker for files you select and does not request “All files access.” General, dedicated/website, and Xiaomi editions may request Android's “All files access” permission solely to save, open, import, share, delete, and manage downloads and local books. You may deny or revoke it; some file-management and library-scanning features will then be unavailable.
- Android — Clipboard: the app reads clipboard text only when you explicitly choose Paste in the address bar or search field. Clipboard content is processed only on your device; it is not uploaded to Zixia servers, stored by the app, or read in the background.
- Android — Notifications and other system capabilities: used for download progress and supported system notices.
You can manage permissions in iOS, iPadOS, or Android settings. Disabling a required permission may prevent the related feature from working.
4. Online features and third-party services
Depending on the platform and feature, when you actively use a networked feature—such as search, translation, a user-configured AI service, third-party sign-in, sharing, rule subscriptions, a networked read-aloud service, or a sponsored link—the search terms, page content, prompts, URLs, or necessary technical information required for that action may be sent to the provider you select or configure. Zixia Browser does not automatically send your locally stored browsing or reading data to the developer. Third parties process data under their own privacy policies. Do not submit passwords, identity documents, payment details, or other sensitive information to AI or online services.
5. Website access and basic logs
When you visit the official website or download the APK, GitHub Pages, network operators, or delivery infrastructure may process basic technical information such as IP address, access time, requested URL, and browser type to deliver content, maintain security, and diagnose errors. We do not sell this information or use it to build cross-site advertising profiles.
6. Sharing, transfers, and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share, transfer, or publicly disclose personal information to unrelated parties except to deliver a feature you actively choose, comply with applicable law, protect users or the public, or act with your explicit consent.
7. Retention and deletion
Local data normally remains on your device until you delete it, clear it in the app, clear app data where the operating system supports that action, or uninstall Zixia Browser. On iOS and iPadOS, private website data is destroyed when the last private tab closes. Eligible app data may remain in backups controlled by Apple or another backup provider. Information sent to an independent service is retained under that service’s policy.
8. Data security
On iOS and iPadOS, Zixia Browser uses Apple system trust for TLS and does not provide a certificate-error bypass. Local data is protected by the security controls of your device, but no internet transmission or storage method can guarantee absolute security. Obtain the iOS and iPadOS app from the App Store, and obtain the Android app from Google Play or the official Zixia Browser website.
9. Children
Children should use Zixia Browser with guidance from a parent or guardian. If you are a guardian and believe a child has provided inappropriate information, contact us using the address below.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when product features, legal requirements, or service practices change. The latest version and effective date will be published on this page, and material changes will be communicated in a reasonable manner.
